«Pordenone: Johnny Depp also on stage at the 'Blues & Co Festival'»

Rome, 16 June (LaPresse) – The events of the Pordenone Blues & Co. Festival, now in its 31st edition, scheduled from 19th to 23rd July. The Pordenone Blues & Co. Festival, thanks to the originality of its line-up and the strength of constantly renewing itself with different formulas, paving the way for other musical genres that derive from the blues, has become one of the most relevant, original and unique events on the European blues music scene; it welcomes a varied audience, spanning different ages and coming from all over Europe. Precisely for these peculiarities, the festival was listed and included in 2012 in the European Blues Union, the association that includes the most important European blues festivals; furthermore, in 2019, the president of the International Festival Forum held in London declared that there is no festival so articulated, which aims, in addition to great music, at the diversification of high-level events and at the union with the beauties and traditions of its territory. The music festival, among the most important in the European panorama, confirms once again its great value and importance in the territory, also in terms of tourist influx: a showcase for the city and for the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, which every year shows off our local excellence and the desire to position itself as a place capable of hosting the author's show, the most acclaimed names in international blues music. The Pordenone Blues & Co. Festival has grown exponentially since 2010: according to a survey conducted by Confcommercio of Pordenone, has become the 1st musical event and the 3rd event of the city in terms of impact on the revenues of tertiary sector companies in the Province of Pordenone. The line up of the 31st edition of the Pordenone Blues & Co. Festival is made up of renowned artists from the world music scene, all of whom will perform at the park San Valentino. The festival season will open on Tuesday 19th July with the blues of Christone 'Kingfish' Ingram and the rock of Vintage Trouble. Expected on 20th July is one of the greatest guitarists of all time, Jeff Beck, who will perform with the American actor Johnny Depp; also introducing and animating the evening before and after the concert will be the famous DJ Ringo of Virgin Radio, who will get the audience going with one of his famous DJ sets. On 22nd July, the showman Fantastic Negrito, an extraordinarily talented American singer-songwriter and guitarist, Sugar Blue, the 'King of Harmonica Blues' who revolutionized the harmonica as an instrument in the blues, and Grayson Capps with his band, storytellers from Alabama, an emblematic figure of the blues. On 23rd July it will be the turn of the British rock group The Darkness; there will also be The Amazons and Overlaps, alternative rock bands from PordenoneThe festival is itinerant: among the initiatives the Pordenone Music Garden, the 'garden where musicians grow', an educational path entirely dedicated to music that should not only be listened to, but also cultivated; and also, the Blues Incursions: throughout the week 'iTecknicolor', actors from the Pordenone theatre company, will involve people by surprise in the streets and in the clubs with stories, poems and gossip about the history of the blues and its myths. Also returning is the Blues On The Roads, Thursday 21 July, an evening to live an experience in which commercial and public activities will be involved, which will remain open for the occasion. Pordenone, will be transformed into a sort of French Quarter of New Orleans, with over 30 concerts, street musicians, shows and DJ sets. Well, for some years the slogan 'Fall in love with our territory' has expressed the concept, the essence of the initiative 'Pordenone for Holiday', which involves the entire city of Pordenone and the municipalities of its province, thanks to the geographical position of the town, due to its proximity to both the mountains and the sea, but also to cities such as Aquileia, Trieste, the Dolomites, Venice. The festival audience, tourists from all over the world who will stay in the city, will be able to take advantage of discounts on overnight stays and paid concerts, during the week of the festival; take part for free in blues trips, to visit the beauties of the province with tasting of typical products; be entitled to discounts in the shops of the city center and for entrances to museums; reduced prices for sports facilities or free for the swimming pool. The Festival, with the artistic direction of Andrea Mizzau, is organized together with the association Pordenone Giovani, which works in agreement with the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, the municipality of Pordenone and various private entities.
