Un overwhelming threesome for the evening of Thursday 18 July at the Park San Valentino, where the phenomenal will perform RIVAL SONS preceded by the driving guitars of Eric Sardinas Band e Joanna Connor Band for an evening full of Rock Blues.
JOANNA CONNOR BAND (USA)
It is "the Queen of Rock/Blues guitar", with a ferocious and decisive sound with slide effects comparable to the "high voltage" ones of Johnny Winters, but with a unique and unmistakable sound.
Born in Brooklyn, raised in Massachusetts, Joanna Connor moved to Chicago at the age of 22 because she was attracted by that city's blues scene. There she met and played with musicians such as James Cotton, Junior Wells, Buddy Guy, later joining Johnny LittleJohn's group for a short period before being called by Dion Payton to play with the 43rd Street Blues Band.
His recording debut came with the album Believe It! released in 1989, a masterpiece that took her out of the Chicago clubs and made her play on the most prestigious stages in the United States, Canada and Europe.
Joanna has 12 fantastic albums to her credit which have led her to be one of the most accomplished guitarists in the world.
ERIC SARDINAS BAND (USA)
An artist capable of breaking any barrier. Guitarist, singer and composer Eric Sardinas is known for the great intensity of his live performances. Since the end of the 90s he has performed on stages all over the world, exponentially increasing his audience over the years. His albums highlight his distinctive style that musically crosses the boundaries of rock and blues to which no one is indifferent anymore. An authentic Californian bluesman who plays exclusively an electrified and customized Dobro, with the slide between his fingers, with extraordinary technical skill and mastery and with a disruptive sound. He has thus defined his own personal and incisive guitar style where he manages to combine the tradition of Delta blues with the powerful and modern sonic impact of rock.
RIVAL SONS (United States)
A Californian quartet based in Long Beach with a gritty sound that ranges from blues rock to hard rock, it is one of the few groups in the world that receives the acclaim of true connoisseurs of the Old Style Rock genre. Pordenone Blues Festival will present his recent sixth album “Feral Roots” released in 2019 and received enthusiastically by critics.
The band, featuring Jay Buchanan on vocals, Scott Holiday on guitar, David Baste on bass and Mike Miley on drums, offers a show of pure adrenaline, ranging from blues rock to hard rock.
