PLACEBO, one of the greatest alternative rock bands of the last twenty years, will be the protagonists of the evening of Tuesday 9 July 2024 at the Parco San Valentino di Pordenone for the 33th edition of the Pordenone Blues Festival.
More than a quarter of a century after singer-guitarist Brian Molko and bassist Stefan Olsdal began jamming with broken guitars and toy instruments at Molko's home in Deptford, the duo has dug deep to come up with their eighth album , “Never Let Me Go”, released in March 2022, from which the singles were extracted Beautiful James, Surrounded by Spies, Try Better Next Time e Happy Birthday in the Sky.
In December 2023 the band also released their first live album, Collapse Into Never – Live in Europe, the first ever live album by Placebo. An extensive collection of performances spanning more than 25 years of career, captured in Mexico, Spain and London.
I Placebo have marked the history of international music over the last 20 years: starting from their debut, they have inspired an entire generation of artists and over the years they have collaborated with music legends such as Robert Smith, David Bowie and Michael Stipe. They are back in better shape than ever.
With more than 13 million albums sold, including five Top Ten LP chart entries in the UK and comparable global sales for Without You, I'm Nothing (1998) and Battle for the sun that in 2009 that defeated Europe, i Placebo they have a voice that cannot be ignored or silenced.
Before the show Placebo the evening will be opened by a special guest.
