LUCKY PETERSON
Former Blues child prodigy (his professional debut at the age of six with Willie Dixon), extraordinary virtuoso on guitar and Hammond organ, Lucky Peterson is an energetic musician, a real hurricane in his live shows. Son of art, it was in his father's blues club that he met his first masters: Muddy Waters, Jimmy Reed and Junior Wells. Lucky Peterson expertly mixes his roots as a true bluesman with the Rock and Funky of artists such as James Brown, Albert King, and Jimi Hendrix, establishing himself as one of the pillars of the contemporary Blues scene. For an entire generation of musicians his albums were (and still are!) a source of continuous inspiration, both solo ones and those in collaboration with other greats of black music - first of all the splendid tribute to Mahalia Jackson with Mavis Staples, for which he received nominations at the Grammy and Blues Music Awards. He arrives in Trieste for a single Italian date, exclusive and among the few as a guest of a European band.
MIKE SPONZA
2012 was a year full of important satisfactions for Mike Sponza, who after more than 20 years of artistic career is increasingly establishing himself as one of the main exponents of European blues. The double album “Continental Shuffle”, released in July '11, which brings together 35 musicians from 13 European countries, solidified Mike's credibility and his artistic depth on the international scene. The collaboration with Bob Margolin, legendary member of the Muddy Waters Band, took shape in a few months in 4 sold-out tours in France, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Denmark, Hungary, Slovenia, Serbia, Croatia and Austria . Bob immediately chose the Mike Sponza Band (an Italian band!) for the production of his new official album released in the United States by Vizztone Record and distributed worldwide since March 2012. The album has already been reviewed in the USA as the “strongest album” of Margolin's solo career reached No. XNUMX on the Living Blues US blues charts in April.
The Mike Sponza Band can count on a rhythm section defined as one of the most "robust" in Europe, with Mauro Tolot on bass and Moreno Buttinar on drums.
