I Level 42 they chose the Pordenone Blues Festival for the preview of their new tour “Eternity”. Led by the extraordinary bass player Mark King, still considered one of the greatest bass players in the world, Level 42 were born in 1979 and thanks to their first single “Love Games” they entered the English charts in 1981; the great success then came with the song “Something About You” from the album “World Machine” in 1985, which climbed the most important charts in the world. The rest is history: with 14 studio albums, 7 live albums, 18 TOP40 singles, Level 42 have so far sold more than 30 million albums and their incredible concerts still sell out today. Their music – a mix of pop, rock, jazz-funk, new wave – unleashes the audience at their concerts making them dance for the duration of the show.
Lee Fields & The Expressions
Lee Fields, at the age of 66, still manages to amaze and reinvent himself, proudly maintaining his being a black music crooner. He boasts a career spanning almost half a century and, despite having remained somewhat apart from highly prestigious colleagues such as Sharon Jones or Charles Bradley, he has always remained faithful to his love for soul, funky and rhythm & blues. In his career he has toured and shared the stage with artists such as Kool & The Gang and Darrell Banks, collaborated with Martin Solveig, and had the largest number of vocal parts in the James Brown biopic “Get on Up” in 2014. He arrives in Italy with his band The Expressions, presenting the CD “Special Night”, which is recording sales numbers well above expectations.
Watermelon Slim
Bill Homans, aka “Watermelon Slim“, is one of the most intriguing bluesmen on the international scene: he plays the authentic and genuine blues of a white bluesman who has nothing to envy of his black-skinned colleagues. He first appeared on the music scene in the early 70s and has come a long way since then: he has performed alongside several notable blues musicians, including John Lee Hooker, Robert Cray, Champion Jack Dupree, Bonnie Raitt and many others. His music is rooted in the Mississippi Delta style, with his slide playing of the dobro. The secret of Watermelon Slim is to have found a perfect synthesis between modern electric and down home style by following the path of tradition. In 2005, Homans was nominated for the prestigious WC Handy Award for “Best New Artist Debut”. In 2006, Slim was nominated for six Blues Music Awards nominations; consider that only BB King, Robert Cray and Buddy Guy received so many Blues Music Award nominations in a single year. On May 26, 2007, Slim was inducted into the Oklahoma Blues Hall of Fame. He also won Mojo Magazine's Best Blues Album of the Year, earned nominations for Album of The Year at the Blueswax Award, won Blues Album of the Year at the Independent Music Awards, and received a nomination for “Best International Artist ” at the Maple Blues Awards, proving that he truly is the new “King of the Blues”! Watermelon Slim is currently recording an album, whose release is scheduled for the first months of 2019 and which will feature as special guests: Bob Margolin, Sherman Holmes, John Nemeth, Joe Louis Walker, Nick Schnebelen, Albert Castiglia, Red Young, Ike Lamb .

Dj set by Soulful Jules – Pordenone Soul Alldayer
After the concerts we will dance with the DJ set exclusively to original vinyl records Soulful Jules, co-organizer of various events in the city including the Pordenone Soul Alldayer which attracts fans of quality black music from all over Italy and many European countries.
Jules has been collecting records since fifth grade; his vast collection includes absolute rarities and dance classics that have allowed him to move the dancefloors of half of Europe over the last twenty years with the warm and engaging sound of vintage soul and funk together with some disco contamination and hip hop.
