At just 25 years old, singer-songwriter and keyboardist Kevin "Sonny" Gullage embodies a profound blues wisdom, blending modern sensibility with traditional roots. Raised in New Orleans in a historic musical family and trained in Southern gospel churches, Sonny arrives at the festival with his Blues Groovers. Together, they form one of the most exciting and freshest bands on the contemporary blues scene, combining the visceral energy of the Delta with the sophistication of soul and modern R&B.
On stage, they'll present their exhilarating debut album, Go Be Free, out now on the legendary Blind Pig label. The album is produced by award-winning Tom Hambridge (formerly with BB King and Buddy Guy) and features a special guest appearance by Christone "Kingfish" Ingram. A former American Idol semifinalist, Disney voice artist, and international tourer across the U.S. and Europe, Sonny combines a championship-caliber voice, exceptional virtuosity on both the black and white keys, and overwhelming energy, ready to bring the blues to a new generation.
