The Boomtown Rats, the legendary Irish new wave band led by Bob geldof, has marked the history of international music with iconic hits such as “I Don't Like Mondays” and “Rat Trap” and continues to thrill audiences all over the world.
50 Years of Legendary Music
The band, with Pete Briquette to the bass e Simon Crowe on drums, still maintains the energy that made them famous in the 70s and 80s. In 2024 we celebrate the 50 years of the Boomtown Rats and for the occasion it was published “The First 50 Years: Songs of Boomtown Glory“, a collection that traces their extraordinary career, from their debut to their latest single “There's No Tomorrow Like Today”.
The 40th Anniversary of Live Aid
This year we also celebrate another important milestone: the 40th Anniversary of Live Aid, the legendary charity concert organized by Geldof that made world music history.
An unmissable event to celebrate one of the most influential bands in Irish rock and the social commitment that has always characterised it. Bob geldof and his bandmates.
Special Guest: Cyborg ZERO
The evening will be opened by Cyborg ZERO (former leader of The Cyborgs) and the mysterious drummer Mister G, in an explosive mix of wild roots blues, punk and garage rock that will warm up the audience before the big main event.

Il Pordenone Blues & C. Festival joins the rich programme of GO! 2025 & Friends, the program promoted by Friuli Venezia Giulia Turismo to expand the cultural and musical offerings linked to Nova Gorica – Gorizia, European Capital of Culture 2025.
The event will not only contribute to the calendar spread throughout Friuli Venezia Giulia, but will also represent one of the flagship initiatives of the Comune di Pordenone, in view of the candidacy for Italian Capital of Culture 2027.
