Billy Burnette is a true legend. Already at the age of 7 he released his first single and at 11 he recorded for the A & M Records label. At 18 he recorded his first official album for Columbia Records, produced by Chips Moman (“Suspicious minds” and “In the ghetto” for Elvis Presley). He records and composes for great artists such as Rod Stewart, Ray Charles, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Everly Brothers, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, Glen Campbell, Eddy Raven. He formed Mick Fleetwood's Zoo in 1983, which included names such as Stevie Nicks, Roy Orbison, Bob Seger, Eddy Van Halen and many others.
In 1985 he was elected “Best New Male Vocalist of the Year”.
Between the end of the eighties and the early nineties he was part of Fleetwood Mac, one of the greatest rock bands in history.
Since 1995 he has written songs for artists such as: Roy Orbison, Ray Charles, Rod Stewart, Cher, Faith Hill, and Greg Allman.
With the album “Coming home” he rose up the country charts with the hit “Tangled up in Texas.”
In 2003 he participated in the composition of a piece for Bonnie Raitt and Ray Charles, “Do I Ever Cross Your Mind”, which appears on the album Genius Loves Company, the last recorded and completed by Ray Charles, winner of 10 Grammy Nominations and Album of the year.
In 2006 he recorded “Memphis in Manhattan” and in 2007 he collaborated with Shawn Camp on the bluegrass album “Elvises Vol. 1”, which reached fifth place in the American charts.
Billy also received a doctorate in music from Columbus State University of Georgia.
In recent years he has toured extensively with Bob Dylan and John Fogerty.
A Pordenone Billy Burnette will perform with the The Di Maggio Connection, a power trio that mixes with great energy and masterful instrumental technique all the wildest faces of R'n'R, Psychobilly-Core, NeoSurf-Rock, with a touch of Hardknocking Swing.
Marco Di Maggio, leader and founder of the band, a leading exponent of the international R'n'R scene, is considered by the specialized press as one of the best guitarists in the world. Since 2008 the prestigious guitar brand Gretsch / Fender has elected him as the only Italian endorser, a prestigious recognition that places him alongside the great Brian Setzer of the Straycats.
With the album “Rockabilly From The Boots Up” (1998), produced in the USA by the Rockabilly Hall of Fame, he achieved sensational success with the public and critics.
Since '96 he has played with practically all the past and current r'n'r legends such as Terry Williams (Dire Straits), DJ Fontana (Elvis' Band), Slim Jim Phantom (Straycats), Scotty Moore (Elvis' Band), Johnny Farina (Santo & Johnny), Robert Gordon, Linda Gail Lewis (Sister of Jerry Lee Lewis), Albert Lee, Billy Swan (Composer for Elvis). He made 10 albums produced in the USA, Germany, Finland, Italy, as well as being included in 35 international compilations. His technique is a crossover of styles and like guitarists such as Danny Gatton, Albert Lee, Brian Setzer, Junior Brown; with his playing he manages to combine taste and technique with great feeling. In addition to Di Maggio, the Di Maggio Connection also features Matteo Giannetti (Double Bass) and Marco Barsanti (Drums).
