- Afterhours will be on stage at the 34th Pordenone Blues Festival Saturday 19th July with the historic band to celebrate 20 years since the first publication of “Ballads for Little Hyenas”, one of the most iconic and representative albums of Italian music which will be reissued in spring in a special edition released by USM/Universal Music Italia.
For the occasion Manuel Agnelli he decided to return to the stage with the band of the time, composed of Andrea Viti (bass), Dario Ciffo (violin, guitar) and Giorgio Prette (drums).
"A few months ago, when the possibility of republishing "Ballate per Piccole Iene" emerged - says Manuel Agnelli - I kept receiving requests to listen to it live again, in its entirety. It was at that moment that I had the idea that playing it live, with the band of the time, would give a deeper meaning to everything. All it took was a phone call to the traveling companions of that season. After two hours, the band was reunited again. This is a bit of the "magic" of the project Afterhours. He has been so many things, he has had so many formations, that it allows you to get back on the road without contacting nostalgia but only new energies.»
Released in 2005 by Mescal and distributed worldwide in its English version by One Little Indian (the British label of the Icelandic artist and performer Björk), the album reached second place in the Italian sales charts and brought the Afterhours on tour in Europe, the United States, Canada and China.
“Ballate per Piccole Iene” contains masterpieces such as “Ballata per la mia piccola iena”, “Ci sono molti modi”, “Carne fresca” and “La vedova bianca”, which are still an important part of Agnelli’s live repertoire as a soloist and of his band.
